Staff Physician

Department: Glendale Medical
Location: Glendale, CA

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Doctor of Medicine Degree from a U.S. accredited institution;
  • 1-2 years clinical experience in Occupational Medicine, General Practice, or Emergency Medicine (Board Certification Preferred);
  • Current license to practice in the State of California;
  • Current DEA license;
  • Current BCLS (CPR/AED) or ACLS certification;
  • Suturing skills a requirement

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide medical treatment and follow up of work-related illness and injuries
  • Perform patient evaluations and physical examinations including various tests, analyses, and diagnostic imaging (e.g., x-rays) to make a diagnosis
  • Review physical findings and diagnostic results to formulate a treatment plan
  • Perform suturing of lacerations, minor surgical procedures including removal of corneal foreign bodies in the eye.
  • Chart and review patient transactions, visits, medical histories, physical examinations, files/records, diagnoses, plans of action, including allergies, medications, and immunization status in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Review and supervise patient services provided by the allied healthcare practitioner, as needed.
  • Prescribe medication including controlled substances appropriately in accordance with state and federal statutes
  • Promote health by advising patient about diet, hygiene, and other disease preventing measures
  • Resolve client grievances regarding medical issues
  • Participate in developing and implementing special medical projects and services onsite and offsite
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, clients, the general public, and respect for cultural diversities
  • Comply with applicable regulations and with corporate policies and procedures
  • Must Self-motivated to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Complete medical reports in a timely manner
  • Is consistently punctual
  • Other duties relevant to physician health practice as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Requires a full range of body motion including handling and lifting, manual finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.  Involves standing, sitting and walking.  Requires normal visual acuity and hearing.
